THEN THERE WAS ONE
1/1/2025

Coming into Monday's action, there was a three-way tie for top spot in the race for the Blair Clarke Memorial Trophy.

After the triple-header, Elite Stars Elgin has sole possession of top spot with just two games remaining.

Elite Stars was in a slugfest with Talbot Trail Physiotherapy and points were hard to come by for the first thirty minutes. The score was only 37-30 going into the final frame.

But a 33-point fourth quarter by the Stars gave them a 70-48 blowout win over the Phsyiotherapists.

The win gave them top spot in the league at 12-6 and a one-game lead over both Cole-Munro and Ambrose Plumbing who lost Monday.

Rob Wakefield had 23 points and Andrew Lynch had 15 for the winners, while Jesse Foster and Adam Millyard each had 11 in defeat for the Physiotherapists (8-10)

Home Hardware played spoiler with a huge victory over an undermanned Cole-Munro squad.

The Home Owners poured in a league season high 67 points in the first half and topped the 100 point plateau with a 101-76 win over the Trout.

Jack Girden lead five players in double figures for the winners (8-10) who picked up a second straight win.

Connor Hodgins-Depont had 19 points, while Mark Cummings (17), Juan Carranza (15) and Jonn Leonard (13) all scored double digits.

Ryan Pflanzer had 33 points and Andrew Cole (24) were the leading scorers for the Trout (11-7) in a losing cause.

In the other game, Mackie's showed they have potential to play spoiler and maybe surprise in the post season after a 77-63 victory over league leading Ambrose Plumbing.

The OrangeAde's (4-14) haven't had a full squad many times, but this was by far their best defensive effort of the year as they maintained a ten-point lead for a large part of the game.

Centre Scott Ross was a force on offence with 19 points in the paint, and a prescence on the boards. Nathan Friesen had 21 points, Nick Roberts 14, and Brent Lale 10 for the winners.

Tyler Annett had 17 points and Nick Lawrence 13 for the Plumbers (11-7) who fall into a tie for second overall.
