On the back of a 44-point performance by league scoring leader Ryan Pflanzer, Talbot Trail Physiotherapy (TTP) held off Elite Stars Elgin 78-73 Monday night to take over top spot.

With the score deadlocked after 10 minutes, the Physiotherapists (9-5) outscored the Stars 24-10 in the second quarter to pull up a 48-34 lead at the break.

In the third, the Stars started to chip away and brought the defecit to just eight entering the fourth.

The score eventually closed to two, but a three-point play by Pflanzer kept enough of a cushion to defeat the league leading Stars (8-5)

Isaiah Kelch had 13 points for the winners, and Geremey Deshutter added a dozen for TTP who have closed within 1.5 games of the lead.

Brian Apfelbeck had 25 points and Rob Wakefield added 21 in a losing cause.

The middle contest looked like a couple of teams whose players hadn't been around recently. The reason is, they haven't had full rosters recently.

The game started like it was being played by Mason's, with the score just 10-6 after one. The scoring expanded in the second, as Home Hardware took a 26-24 lead into the second half over Cole-Munro Foods.

It was all Home Owners after that point, as they caused some turnovers and just had better offensive opportunities. They cruised to a 62-48 win.

Nav Kaushal had 16 points with Kamal Aizimi adding 13 and Matt Agbetiafa had 12 for the Home Owners who made it back to .500 at 7-7.

Jack Girden was the only member of the Trout (7-7) who had double figures wtih 10.

In the finale, Ambrose Plumbing outscored Mackie's 25-9 in the final quarter to finish a 74-60 win in a game which was much closer than the final score indicated.

Trailing by five after ten minutes thanks to 3-3 shooting by Merrick Mount,  Mackie's increased the intensity of their zone defence and fought back to lead after both the second and third quarter.

It was the second half shooting by the Plumbers who ultimately helped them pull away. Blair Umeri found his stroke with six triples in the second half - including four in a row - as Ambrose made nine of their 14 three's in the second half.

Tyler Annett had 13 of his 15 in the second half and Jimmy Hendricksen had 14 as the Plumbers (6-6) were finally able to crack the zone.

Nic Roberts-Neef had 19 points and Tai Montfort 16 for Mackie's (3-10) who played well for 33 minutes, before falling to strong outside shooting.
