The Final Four is set in the St. Thomas Men's Basketball League after Talbot Trail Physiotherapy grabbed the last spot with a win-or-go-home victory 66-55 over Home Hardware.

Ryan Pflanzer scored 22 of his game high 31 points in the second half, carrying his team into a semifinal matchup as the fourth seed.

Trailing 28-24 at the half to the Home Owners, the Physiotherapists (2-3) outscored their opponent 42-27 in the final 20 minutes.

Henry Koekuyt had 11 of his 14 in the second half, while Geremey DeSchutter added 16 for the winners.

The Home Owners (1-4) season comes to an end, as they couln't find the bucket, scoring just seven field goals in the second half as they slipped further and further behind.

Kamal Aizimi had 20 points and Matt Agbetiafa 10 in a losing cause.

Ambrose Plumbing completed a perfect 5-0 round robin playoff with a 72-66 win over Cole-Munro Foods.

In a game which had no bearing on the playoff standing, Jimmy Hendricksen had 36 points and Steve Barton 16 for the Plumbers who grab the number one seed and will face the Physiotherapists in the semfiinals Monday night.

Rookie Oliver Taylor had a career high 27 points for the Trout (0-5) and Andrew Cole had 14 points as the defending champions finish a disappointing season.

In what will be a semfiinal rematch Monday, Elite Stars Elgin beat Mackie's 79-72.

Rob Wakefield had 36 points, dominating in the paint with 16 field goals as his team came back from an early defecit to win a close game.

The Stars lead by four going into the fourth and held on to win, in what should be a good matchup Monday night.
Josh Vigars had 11 points and Mike Morrison 10 for the Stars (4-1) who finish as the number two seed.

Brent Lale lead five players in double figures for Mackie's (3-2) with 18 points, while Taran Beekhuis added 17 and Doug Teetzel 11.

IT'S A WINNER TAKE ALL WEDNESDAY

The fourth of four semifinal teams will be determined in the final game of the round robin Wednesday when Talbot Trail Phyisotherapy (1-3) takes on Home Hardware (1-3).

The winner will join Ambrose Plumbing, Elite Stars and Mackie's in the final four of the St. Thomas Men's Basketball League.

The Physiotherapists kept their semfiinal hopes alive with a narrow 69-67 win over Cole-Munro Foods Monday night.

A last second three-point shot attempt by Jack Girden rattled out and Talbot Trail held on for their first win of the post-season.

Ryan Pflanzer had 26 points and Geremey DeSchutter had 21 for the winners who got a much needed win to keep their hopes alive.

The Trout (0-4) got 19 points from Oliver Taylor, but have now been eliminated .

In a battle for the number one seed, Ambrose Plumbing (4-0) smothered Elite Stars Elgin (3-1) to win 66-51. In a matchup of the top two centres in the league, Jimmy Hendricksen dominated the paint at both ends, scoring buckets and denying Rob Wakefield anything easy, while blocking and altering shots.

Hendricksen had 25 points and Andrew Lynch added 20 for the winners, who will meet the winner of TTP and Home Hardware in the semifinals.

Bryan Apfelbeck had 17 and Rob Wakefield 16 for the Stars who will meet Mackie's in the Final Four.

Home Hardware made their quest to reach the semis a little more difficult after losing to Mackie's 76-69.

The OrangeAde's (3-1) lead for most of the game, except for a one-minute span in the third quarter where the Home Owners took a brief 54-52 lead near the end of the third.
However Mackie's shut them down in the fourth, breaking a 54-54 tie outscoring them 22-15.

Taran Beekhuis got to the rim all night long scoring 24 for Mackie's, while Nic Roberts-Neef and Tai Montfort each had 17.

Mark Cummings had 21 and Kamal Aizimi 20 in a losing cause.

The Home Owners can still reach the semis with a win Wednesday.

TEAMS BOOK THEIR TICKET TO FINAL FOUR

Two teams have booked their ticket to the Final Four of the St. Thomas Men's Basketball League, and another thanks to help Monday has about a 99% chance they are in too.

Elite Stars Elgin (3-0) and Ambrose Plumbing (3-0) are into the semis, while Mackie's (2-1) have all but assured themselves a spot thanks to head to head record and a strong point differential among teams who are fighting for their spots.

In the opener Monday, The Stars jumped out to a 40-27 lead at the half, as Rob Wakefield dominated in the paint scoring 22 of his 30 points in the opening 20 minutes. They kept an 11 point lead into the fourth, but Talbot Trail Physiotherapy (0-3) switched to a zone defence in the final quarter and started forcing turnovers. They would cut the defecit to just two at 68-66 with 1:30 left in the game. Down 70-66 they had three consecutive three-point shots bounce off the rim and would lost it 72-66 in what turned out to be a great game.

Josh Vigars and Mike Morrison each had 11 points for the winners, who are into the semfiinals. Ryan Pflanzer had 19 of his game high 34 points in the third quarter, with Bradley Young adding 17 for the Physiotherapists. Despite being 0-3 they do control their own destiny with two games remaining.

in a game featuring two winless teams, Home Hardware outlasted Cole-Munro 64-58 to give them the upperhand at a spot in the semfiinals.

The Home Owners (1-2) took a 35-23 lead in the second quarter, but Jack Girden made three of his five three-point shots to bring the Trout (0-3) even at 35-35.

From there, it was tight all the way through the end, but a couple of big buckets from Mark Cummings and Alex Roberts-Neef gave them a much-needed victory.

Kamal Aizimi had 16 of his game high 22 points in the opening quarter for the Home Owners, with Cummings scoring 20.

Andrew Cole had 17 and Girden 17 in a losing cause.

The Home Owners now control their own destiny to make the final four, while the Trout will need to win out and get a little help to sneak into the semifinals.

In the finale Monday, Ambrose Plumbing beat an undersized and undermanned Mackie's team 93-81.

The Plumbers took advantage of the size difference with centre Jimmy Hendricksen (29 points) who cleaned up every miss in the paint with the OrangeAde's having no available forwards.

Steve Barton scored 24, with Tyler Annett and Andrew Lynch adding 14 each for theh winners.  The Plumbers have earned a spot in the semifinals and are now looking to finish in top spot.

Mackie's got 22 points from Tai Montfort and 19 from Jackson Lale and Nic Roberts-Neef in the loss.

The OrangeAde's (2-1) have all but booked their ticket to the semis thanks to head to head wins over TTP and Cole-Munro, and a strong potential point differential between teams they could be tied with in a fight for a playoff spot.
